The iconic 325i better known as "Gushehe"
The mid 80s BMW 325i has become a genuine symbol of South African pop culture. The box shaped automobile is featured in music videos, in documentaries, in movies and soapies.This has essentially played a part in launching the 325i to stardom in SA.
The E30 dubbed "Gusheshe"which is a African slang that measns "quick" was introduced to South Africans for the first time around the mid 1980s and the production continued until the early 1990s.Its popularity still reigns suppreme and it continues to be praised and acknowledged even by the modern generation of South Africans.Old beat up ones are meticulously restored around the country because the car is just simply considered a statement and it's synonymous with the term "cool".Famous and popular South African artist Casper Nyovest realised a song titled Gusheshe in 2013 in which he featured the BMW in the music video of the song.
When it comes to car and drift shows in Mzanzi, the E30 is always considered as the main act. When the 325i takes center stage in drift events and festivals ,it always steals the show , it is literally the car that everyone wants to see.It Is indeed a genuine timless German masterpiece.
